A PoE extender, also known as a PoE repeater, is a device that extends the Power over Ethernet (PoE) connection distance between the PoE-powered device (PD) and the PoE injector or switch (PSE). This means you can power and connect PoE-enabled devices, such as VoIP phones, IP cameras, and wireless access points, over longer distances than the standard 328 feet (100 meters). PoE extenders work by regenerating the PoE signal and extending it over an additional Ethernet cable.
